"Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer."
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
I immigrated to the United States from Poland in 1984, when President Ronald Reagan was running for his second term, and I have been a Washingtonian for the past 34 years. I have a wonderful wife, Yvonne, and we have two great sons, Tommy and Scott, who started working for the Federal Government and Amazon after graduating from college and law school. I grew up on a small farm ran by my grandmother and my parents who also had full time professional careers. My mother was a teacher and my father was an auditor for an agricultural corporation until his tragic death when I was only four years old.
During my college years in Poland, I was active in the Solidarity Movement and I helped organize the first independent political party, Renaissance. I had also been competing, and winning, in the Current Affairs, History and Political Science competitions, and working the summers in Germany for Daimler Benz and Kodak Corporations. After graduating with a MA degree in Business/Political Science, I received an Assistant Professor position at the Maritime University in Szczecin, Poland. A few years later, due to increased political persecution, my wife and I decided to leave Poland and immigrate to the United States.
After coming to this country, I studied English, Business, and Computer Programing, while working evening and weekend jobs. I graduated from the University of Washington with an MA degree in International Relations in 1988. Soon after that, I started working as a Social Worker for Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). Over the course of my career, I have been fortunate enough to assist thousands of Washingtonians in improving their lives. I have always been dedicated to the needs of my clients and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the citizens of this state.
If elected, I hope to take my skills, honesty, integrity, and dedication to the next level and continue working my hardest to make this country even better, more secure, prosperous and peaceful to the benefits of our current and future generations. I have always been putting interests of others ahead of my own and I hope to continue doing so as your Senator in the near future.
So help me God.
